Netezza is a data warehousing software firm founded in 2000, in MA. It was acquired by IBM in Sept of 2010. The software uses Asymmetric Massively Parallel Processing (AMPP) architecture for large scale data processing, rivaling with competing software Teradata.
It allows simple connection to other datasources, including SQL, DB2, Essbase, Teradata, etc. directly from the data source set up.
This allows data movements to/from downstream to upstream, and vice versa.
