When do you purchase the next PC, tablet?
Well, Windows 8 will be released on Oct. 26, and will be the OEM package for many PCs and tablets. The OS will be designed to offer high-end experience on tablets, that is, it will look more like Apple's OS X, focusing more on what you can see, than the speed, nimbleness or stealth of a big cat.
Some tablet makers have announced that they will be using Windows RT, while others will use Windows 8 Pro. Looks like this release 'will' be in time for Christmas shopping and gifting.
Windows RT (or Windows Runtime, formerly known as Windows on ARM, both were terrible names) will be a version of the Windows 8 for tablet devices. It will run software available through Windows Store, and run standard office software.
Windows 8 is a x86-64 bit OS architecture, with Windows 8 Pro having additional capacity for easier client-server setups.
